Your Voice Matters
Our "Your Voice Matters" workshops are
for all new citizens and ESOL learners (ESOL stands for English
for Speakers of Other Languages) who are resident in the UK.
The workshop is FREE to attend and includes lunch,
we also try to provide transport to the venue wherever possible.
Aims and Objectives of the Workshop:
- To demonstrate how they can influence local and national
decisions that shape their lives.
- Provide new citizens with the skills, information and knowledge
required for more effective participation in UK life at local,
national and European levels.
- To help participants understand the reasons for participating
and to appreciate their voice matters.
- Raise the profile of new citizens from all backgrounds in
the British political system and increase understanding.
- Motivate new citizens to take part in local and national
elections, either as candidates or voters.
- Encourage participants to get involved in their local community
and access available services.
NCV is delivering 60 workshops across London over 3 years.
Dates for workshops are being organised by region and will appear
here in due course. Please check back here regularly or contact
us for a workshop in your area.

Previous Workshops
Congratulations to all those that attended the last workshop on 27 March 2009. You can watch a video of the day. We are planning a New Citizens Voice forum for participants to provide one to one support to try and solve their concerns from the workshop. All participants will shortly be attending Parliament.
The images on this page are from the that workshop.
Congratulations to all that attended or supported the workshop and made it such a successful day! And many thanks to The Mayor, the Councillors and council team for making this event possible.
See for Yourself
